Why is my horn suddenly silent?

1974 911, Momo Monte Carlo steering wheel and single horn button. Problem is it has suddenly decided to not work anymore, and it's one for few things I need to pass Texas' safety inspection. I checked the horn button, and it is connected, ground is good; in fact I can hear a *click* inside the front truck area when I press the horn, but no actual horn sound. Any thoughts? I know this isn't as sexy a question as exhaust choice or engine swap, but I have to get a working horn to pass inspection. Thanks!

Relay picking up is the clicking you hear. Maybe swap it out. Test horns with 12 volts applied, if still not working check the wiring from relay to horns and fuse. Loose fuse or loose pin in relay socket?

If you apply 12 volts directly to the horn and it does not sound, you need a new horn.

I'm sure there are lots of folks who could read sex into the question, "Why is my horn suddenly quiet?"

Allow me to start: Perhaps your horn was blown too much of late?
