Looking for a purple 911

Sometime in the not so distant past, I was looking for a 86-88 911 and found a unique colored car on Ebay and didn't think that much about it at the time but my wife really like it and would like to have one that color to beat around in.It was a light purple and I am hoping someone would know the color code so I can find one

Don't know about the purple may have been a repaint or special order....reguardless, trying to find a purple 911 will most likely be impossible ..especially in decent condition

You might be talking about 'Prussian Blue Metallic-code 321

It actually looks purple in some light and various dark blues in other. It's a cool color I think

There were two purples in the longhood era; Aubergine code 025, and Lilac code 341.

Here is Aubergine...

and Lliac.

I wish the guy in BC would be a little more reasonable with the price. It would have to be a really low mile car to pay that much... Atleast for me anyway.

Thats for the thought.. I am on a real tight budget but would consider buying a car but all I would want is 86-88 normally aspirated 911coupe in cassis red
Oh Snap's find in BC is what I would like to have. If that guys car was about 10K less I would seriously be thinking of a road trip!

Yeah his price is optimistic IMO, even for the Canadian market. Might be worth a call though, he could be flexible. Exchange numbers and he might call you back in a few months at something closer to average Carrera price. At 32k you could have a near perfect Carrera with a complete repaint in whatever colour you like.

Its a rare colour but not so rare that they don't come up for sale a couple times a year. If you are patient and willing to travel you'll find the right car. That's how I got my Iris Blue coupe

Quite a while ago I was told that only 60 were made worldwide in that color "cassis red" but since then I have not been able to verify that. Paint code L80D. It was supposed to be special order color available in '87/88 only.

You might check in the Hollywood California area or maybe South Beach Florida areas.
