Cad or similar plating engine sheet metal
I have tried powdercoating and various high temp paints with mixed results. I am taking in a bunch of parts for cad plating and was thinking that would be ideal for the engine tins too, wouldnt it? Not original, but is cadmium plating or another plating appropriate for the engine sheet steel pieces? I'm talking about the 8 pieces and the springs around the cylinders,.
Anyone do this?

Trying to find someome to do cad plating is getting harder and harder due to environmental issues. White zinc is more common, its close but not as tough.
Do you have someone in TO that can do cad? |

I had my engine sheet metal powder coated in 1987 and it still looks great. What issues did you have? If it is not baked for the right amount of time and right temperature, it will start to flake off.
