Should I trade my 911 for NSX?

Hi Guys. I've been doing a lot of research on NSX's and driven a few and it's really growing on me. I currenlty have a 74 911 with a 3.0 fully rebuilt with a 965 conversion done right. Although I love my 911 the feel of the NSX seems to be better. What should I do? Now if I had a real 965 turbo or 993 I would stick with it but is out of my price range. But with the NSX is somthing affordable and fun to drive on a daily basis. What do you think?

whatever turns your crank I guess. I respect the NSX for what it is, but it does not turn my head like a classic body 911

Two completely different cars IMO. Not sure what a nice NSX goes for, these days, but I say keep saving for the 993 if you are wanting to change. The "ferrari fighters" of the 90's were nice at the time, but they are looking dated and have no soul like your 911.

Check out tire prices (and tire life) on an NSX. IIRC that is the #1 complaint from owners.

sounds like your 911 is worth $15k, maybe less, maybe more if you parted it. How much is the NSX for which you'd trade? I think you'd end up ahead. You can always trade back to a better 911.

Depends on the year of the NSX. If it was a non-power steering manual car in a desirable color I would go for it. They are fun to drive and make great noises.

I think the NSX is a great looking car, even today. I'll have to respectfully disagree with the above statement and say I think they have aged very well. I still think they look as modern today as when new. With BBS LMs they are amazing looking:

Small world! Great looking car! I'd trade it, if the NSX is nice. I'm not certain of the values, but bet they are in your favor.

All has been updated. Rebuilt 3.0 (by someone reputable on this site), tranny with LSD, all paperwork, steel conversion widebody, new 964 interior and plush carpeting, sound system, 18x11 and 18x9.5 3 pc wheels, and much more with the helps of you pelicans (regulator, fuel pump, frequency valve, check valve, accumulator, etc).

Go to nsxprime.com. The price of a nsx is equivalent to a 993.

If I had your 911 I wouldn't trade it for an NSX. +2 on whoever said eat your rice and be hungry again soon after....

But that's me.

I traded my "Miss December" Opel GT for a 911:

I love your car Doug!! Now thats a keeper for sure. I'm just realizing I don't have the time to work on the 911 as much as I use to. Just wanted something easy to maintain and enjoy. The Porsche has become a garage queen and is driven once every 3 weeks for the past 2 years.

If YOU did all that stuff to your 911,

Why not enjoy it for a while?

Also, if indeed you spent all that time and effort on it, you're NEVER going to get even half of that money back out of it.

But, if it doesn't do it for you anymore, might as well get something you enjoy and have fun.

My friend owns a dealrship and has 3 NSX's to choose from. Let's just say he's giving me a family price. Drove all 3 like I stole it and have to admit it was fun. >
