White car with black interior -- What headliner?

White 76 sunroof coupe with a black interior.

What color headliner would it originally have?

Most likely white. That's not to say you wouldn't find black headliners with that combo.

What year? (you could put this in your sig to stop folks asking all the time )

I'm curious - if your car is the same era, and has a black interior with a black headliner - did it originally have the two-tone sunvisors (like mine), or were they all black?

I think that they were two-tone so they matched the headliner when folded back, but that's just a theory; be interested to know what visors were used on a black headliner car

White will make it feel bigger and brighter inside. Black hides the dirt.

White 78 sunroof SC here.
Black interior. White headliner.
2-tone visors. White when up, black lowered.

Originally, white headliners were the only option. Around 1973, a black headliner became optional (on the Carrera RS at first, if I recall correctly). Anyway, I'm pretty sure by 1976 a standard 911 could be ordered with a black headliner. If so, it would have had all-black visors. I have a white '77 Carrera 3.0 that was built with a black interior and black headliner and it looks fine.

I think it's a bit of personal preference at this point. I always liked black headliners and ordered them when white was standard. Black became standard for cars ordered with a black interior, in 1985. Some people prefer the lighter color.

Exactly the same on my 82 sunroof coupe.

Thanks for the input

I'm doing a windows out respray and I'm getting the dash recovered so I figure doing the headliner would probably be a logical thing to do while I'm in there. Years ago someone painted it grey and replaced the headliner with a black one.

I like the white headliner but I'm worried about it getting stained a few years down the road.
