Pulse Senders, Can I Re-suse?
The car was running just fine before dropping the engine.
Do I need to replace these 2 pulse senders because the insulation is toast? Can I re-insulate and re-use? I sure could use the $320 somewhere else. Or is there a substitute? BTW I am upgrading the CHT to the newer 2 wire model Thanks! ![]()

Thanks for the quick answer.
Are the plugs the same as the "Porsche" part or do I need to modify anything? The picture in the parts catalog does not show well. A straight plug-n-play replacement at half the cost would be nice! ![]()

One tip; can't take credit for it but it helped me out. The CHT wire is white. Both the speed and reference sender plugs are identical. Someone, don't know if it was Porsche, PO or a shop took a yellow paint pen and marked the speed sensor connectors on both the harness and sender side at the engine bracket.
Before I crawled into the wheel well I also marked one of my sensors and made sure I replaced marked with marked. I fed everything up into the engine bay and got the grommet back in place. When I went back into the engine bay I didn't have to remember which was speed and which was reference when staring at two identical connectors. -J |
