How do you do a "Partial" engine drop

Removing my CIS for maintenance and it's been recommended to do a partial engine drop.

Can anyone elaborate on the procedures for this? I'm wondering if there is more than just loosening the rear engine mounts and lowering the engine a bit. Do I also need to loosen the transmission mounts or anything else?

Thanks..............Vern

Jack car up on 2 jack stands under the torsion bars
Support engine using a jack
Un-screw the 2 engine mount bolts at the back
Lower the engine (now somewhat loose) by about 3-4 inches. You may want to support the engine weight with something more solid than a jack

Now you have more space to see/feel/remove nuts and bolts of the air box.

Thanks! I did a search but the only thing I could find was "you should do a partial" but couldn't find any details.

My CIS should be fairly easy to remove as I have a '74 with none of the peripherals that the later cars have.

Dont forget to disconnect the transmission shift linkage in the tunnel access by the rear seat .... if you do forget you are going to bend it beyond repair .....
