I painted my airbox cover

So I'm an aspiring airbrush artist and here is my attempt at chrome lettering. I think I have a long way to go but I'm gonna keep it this way so I can look back and guage my progress. What do you think guys?

A little blingy for my taste but paint/art looks really nice.

That's the word I was looking for...'BLINGY' Yep that it is but I am kinda going with a bit of graphics work on the car so it will be on par.

from where I stand - that looks "impossible"

so kudos!
not my thing for these cars....but again, it's your car and a really nice job of doing something that looks very difficult to do....and it looks great!

It will be a shame to cover it up with a pair of ugly black straps....

Thanks for the comments and encouragement guys. Timmy, I am going to go with engagement slots in the back and camlocs in the front as far as securing it so no ugly black straps here! Trust me, I agonized over how I was going to keep those straps from abrading the **** out of my paintwork.

I think you guys are lending truth to the adage that "less is more" I hate to say it but I agree. I may have to tone it down .

Honestly .. I like your thought of tracking your evolution ...

It goes in your engine compartment .. it is not going to be seen every day ..

you should do what you like also .. don't let "us" change your style and conform you ..

not every one agrees with some of my choices ... 964 bumpers and skirts on an SC .. blacked out CUP wheels .. with mocha brown(original color for my car) ... and 1200 watts of stereo .. though I usually keep it turned off ...

Be your self ... enjoy your car ....

+1, Do what feels right for you.
Glad you figured out a fastening method that won't cover it up.

Nice work.

What type of primer/paint did you use? Anything special considering the heat?
