quick question - what is that?

I was inspecting my recently purchased 87 the other night in preparation of some wheel work, and saw a large canister in the top of the right rear wheel well. I can find only one picture in the Bentley book that shows it, and it's not identified. The 72 didn't have it, so I was just wondering...

Carbon cannister. Your 72 should have had one (differently shaped) in the front trunk next to the battery.
