CIS air box modification for ram air?

Can this be done? I found this quote from Brian B. It's from a year-and-a-half ago:

"I did make a ram air setup and sealed the airbox for a very noticable increase in power."

How is this done? Has anyone else done a mod like this? It sounds cool, (and does it sound cool?) All in all, does this modification work?

Thanks in advance.

it has been posted many times that the airbox end of the engine is not where the restriction is...it's the other end, exhaust!
On that note, I did go with the K&N and made a few more holes in my airbox just in case. Have I noticed a big change?...NO. But I do like the sound of the intake as it seems louder now when under acceleration. I just don't think a Ram Air system would be worth the expense and hassle.

dd,
Do a search on a recent thread called Cold Air Intake. It's been well established that keeping the intake air as close to ambient as possible will help an engine make it's maximum HP.

On the theme of "cold / ambient air", any aerodynamicists out there who could tell us roughly where the low pressure area is in relation to the rear window and grill? Would that be the best location for an intake?

Check this thread for a little discussion of the aerodynamics.

Good air flow?
