Getaway in Stockholm III

... is going to be recorded soon ... roumors say that we are probably going to see stripped 930 with TT-converted 3.6L N/A engine as one of the cars...

Yeah, it's irresponsible, I know :-)

(For those who don't know...it's that swedish flick with cars driving fast trough Stockholm and evading police...)

I'll look for it!

Sooner or later one of these getaways will go wrong and that is something I do not want to see.

If you don't want to see when it goes bad, you better not give them money when it's going "right".

Yeah!

Funny enough, i happend to know the owner of the car and was even helping him during winter to find some minor trim-pieces...

Tech hint: if you are to TT-convert your 3.6, make sure you update scavenging oil-pump. They tried to dyno the engine and scavenge-pump couldn't keep-up with two big turbos, resulting in two destroyed shaft-bearings. :-( New installation has two scavenging pumps. New & bigger turbos are also there in place.

And yeah, it's very stupid and irresponsible to record this kind of stuff.

IMO, it's more than stupid and irresponsible. It's just plain selfish. Like the guy who gets drunk knowing full well he'll have to drive himself home, these sorts of antics are risking other people's lives not just the driver's. If one of those cops dies trying to catch them, the video purchasers will be partly to blame just as the tabloid buyers who "sponsored" the paparazzi are partly responsible for princess Di's death.
Of course coming to those conclusions would require more maturity than most of us have when we're in our 20's (or even 30's in my case).

I could be wrong but it looks to me like the chase and the speed are contrived. The supposed police look like friends in on the scene.

No doubt they are exceeding the speed limit but it looks like the tape has been sped up and sound dubbed in; at least on the first Getaway tape I saw. Otherwise, why is the beacon atop the lighthouse spinning at 3600 rpm? I know they say the tape is real but I've never seen a lighthouse beacon spin that fast.

I saw one of these vids, and the whole thing looked staged to me. It's either fake, or their police are woefully incompetent. If they tried that here, we'd have footage circulating the 'net of the driver having a chat with the local PD/Highway Patrol, Rodney King style.

First one (with 911) was staged (police was fake), the other one (Supra + Cosworth) was not...neither of videos was speeded (rotating lights in the tower on GIS1 really spin so fast, i see it every day)

In sweden, it's not illegal to sell these videos. Also, you need to be caught "in action", otherwise they cannot prove that it was you who was driving despite police seeing license-plate on a car that might belong to you.

For the record, I do not know of one person who actually purchased the video, most just download it off of Kazaa.....either way, it's a mildly entertaining bit of video but gets old after 10 minutes........and on a side note; if you get a kick outta flying down the highway and getting chased by cops I'm not gonna stop ya, it's just that when they bust your a** and put you in prison I'm gonna find out what police auction your car is going to and pick it up for dirt .

later,

amir

Goran, make sure to post a link here if it makes its way to a homepage Looking forward to see it.

There are so many stupid people doing stupid and dangerous things every day. Don't get too outraged by this because this is only the top of the top of the iceberg.
