Questions on setting spring plate angle on a 1989 3.2 Cabriolet
Hi All,
I have a 1989 3.2 Carrera Cabriolet. I just finished installing Elephant Racing rubber replacement bushings on my spring plates. I have accessed the 911 Spring Plate Angle Calculator on rennlight.com so I can calculate the correct spring plate angle for re-assembly. A few questions: What is the correct weight to plug into the calculator? The curb weight? Or the curb weight adjusted upward by a full tank of fuel and driver's weight? The Bentley manual says to set the angle at 32 degrees. Should I just go with that? Does anyone have the curb weight for a 1989 Cabriolet handy? My owner's manual only shows one curb weight for non-turbo body styles and that is 2756 lbs/1250 kgs. I imagine, however, that true curb weights vary a bit among Coupes, Targas and Cabriolets. I have not decided where to set the height yet, but will probably go between US and Euro height. Thanks, Jonathan |

Mine weighed 2956 with 7/8 full gas tank. Also has a roll bar estimated at 40 lbs.
Fyi- mine is pretty low. Very little space between the top of the tire and bottom of the fender. They are around 22 degrees.

I set my mine for 30 degrees trying to achieve the so-called Euro height.
I too just installed the ER rubber bushings. The car is still on stands wit the engine out for the moment so I can't tell you what it will look like once on the ground though...
