Hello folks: I am hoping for some help with my 1986 911 Carrera with a no start condition. I am currently running a diagnostic on the alarm system to eliminate or repair that as a posssible cause of the no start.
I am following the Bentley manual: Troubleshooting Page 909-2 Alarm system Probing the Alarm control module connection: Required test: Expected results: Actual result: * 30 & 78a Test lamp light Test lamp did not light * Hn & 30 Test Lamp light Test Lamp did not light E/A & 31 Alarm on 2- 3 oms 2.4 oms E/A & 31 Alarm off 4 - 5.5 Oms 4.5 oms MK & 30 Test Lamp on Test lamp on/ Press trunk switch off 61 & 30 Test light on Test light on (Ignition on light off) * 15 & 31 Test light go out with Ignition on (Opposite) Light go on w/ignition * T & 30 Open door Test lamp light Test lights did not light 31 & 30 Test lamp light Test light light on * Indicates faults found: With the opposite reading for terminals 15 & 31 I am wondering if the ignition has two wires incorrectly connection. any suggestion to help me with this repair would be most appreciated.. I actually received a lot of help from Dorkiphus.net - NOVA/DC/MD Porschephiles to solve this problem , I ended up changing the alarm module, and correcting a number of ground faults at the door contacts.. I was able to satisfy each diagnostic check fault and repair. I Those folks at Dorkiphus.net - NOVA/DC/MD Porschephiles are great.. Remember to help the recruit, no one left behind.. |
