Help identifying this rubber seal
I am reassembling my 1970 T.
![]() ![]() This seal is about 33 inches long and I do not have a label on it and I do not see it on the parts diagram. I know I took it off, please help me figure out where it belongs. |

Looks like the engine compartment seal. Rides just below the engine info sticker panel on a metal lip that is part of the same panel.
Make sense? Look at the PET for your yr/model 911 and you should see it. I just bought one for my SC. It looks very similar to yours. Might be a design difference between the long hood/short hood - impact bumper cars. Edit. Looking at your pic closer... The side that is laying on the table surface - that's the part that hooks on the vertical lip on the engine panel. The rows of flaps create a seal against the bottom of your deck lid. I was at swap meet 2weeks ago and I only saw the rubber seal on the license plate panel which has cut outs for the lights in the deck lid. I do not see where this would go. Maybe on the front bonnet somewhere?

Looks like the seal at the back of the engine compartment.
