What is this differential from? (LSD) 910?
One of the parts on my stash. I'm sorting through my stuff getting ready to sell things in preparation for moving.
I cannot identify this diff. I had it identified as a 910 differential but I want to confirm this. Any ideas? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks!

Juan,
What are the bearing diameters? How about the ring gear bolt diameter? |

That is a standard 70's coarse-spline ZF differential for 911/914/915 transmissions. The 910 used a 904 differential, with tapered housing and male flange attachments.
Photo below is same ZF number as yours...

That's what I was afraid of. It does not look special...... Any other info on these you could share?

You can test the clutches for release torque, as shown below. For that ZF, spec is 29-58 lbs/ft, 4-8 mkp or 40-80 Nm.

Jon,
Matt is a good friend and a walking encyclopedia on all things gear train. When I first commented on the LSD he said that if I thought it could be a special unit, I had to contact you for info. I owe a lot of my success in racing to his willingness to share knowledge and the excellent products he brings to us!

Did you know that Matt has half-thickness plates/discs that can easily transform a 2-disc LSD into a 4 disc?
