red fan = motormeister rebuild???

it seems that any ad i have viewed with "motor meister rebuild" always has a red fan. is this their trademark? other than an owner that has detailed their own engine - can i assume that a red fan = mm rebuild? i know enough to stay away from them. TX.

I've seen other people do this as well. But it certainly sends up a "red flag". (pun intended)
I would just ask about it and make sure.

Besides, you have to ask if a motor has been rebuilt when you buy it. If it has then ask for the documentation. If there is none then consider the motor unrebuilt. Especially if its a recently rebuild without docs then consider it a core.

Red is just a popular color to paint the fan. I would not equate a red fan with anything, good or bad.

I followed this Tech Article and had a some help from my "pit crew". I had them clean the parts while I tore them out of the car.

Simon:

Great pics! Family is wonderful. I think you are doing a fine job preparing your kids for re-packing your bearings and stripping the bushings from your spring plates.

Re the MM red fan, it's a 'scarlet letter' IMHO - especially when I recall Roy telling me that all RSRs had them.

Best,

Kurt

Funny you mention that. The one MM rebuild I have personal experience with did have a red fan.

The "pit crew" looks to clean to be working on those parts! Watch out for those weltmister air box straps, mine falled in 6 months.
