Help with AC front condenser fan
I took the non functioning front condenser fan out of my 73' (may not have originally come on the car?) because it was not working when I had the ac on. I put 12 volts to it and it screeched and then seemed to be fine. I checked the voltage at the plug in the car and got nothing. AC on and ignition on, car not running. The fuses look good, I twisted them all and there is no noticeable corrosion. Any ideas where to check next?? The wire looks good up as far as I can see. Is there a relay to check? How do you check a relay??
Thanks for any help. Has any body bought a set of barrier AC hoses? how much is a whole set?? |

Elo, I'm no authority on P-car a/c but I believe the condensor fan is regulated by a pressure switch. This switch I would think would be up on the condensor somewhere and operate a relay in the central electric panel. fwiw like I said I'm no authority.

On later models, The condenser relay is loc. in the fwd lugage comp. above the fuse pnl. Try swapping like relays with the most fwd relay.
