Odd size Porsche crest-where was this used?
I have several of these sitting around for years and I've never been able to find out where they were used. center caps--steering wheel horn button? They are about 2 3/8 in. tall.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1363634797.jpg

Dont think its center caps, the the caps I have ever seen were painted in some fashion although maybe this was some kind of special thing.
I know that some Porsche's had crests on the interior door handles but the ones I have seen were smaller than this. Maybe its an aftermarket hood emblem, however the posts are in the wrong location for that. If I had to guess I would say its the center cap for a 930 steering wheel. I have never taken one of so I dont know who they mount but Im sure one of the 930 guys here can chime in on that. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads3/930s%2Bwheel%2Binstalled1087342779.jpg&imgrefurl=h ttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/167865-steering-wheels-85-911-a.html&h=679&w=800&sz=78&tbnid=qt3e1FdAXnF8OM:&tbn h=109&tbnw=129&zoom=1&usg=__LkVrEMaZ9HfulNS2jKsqY_ YJhgg=&docid=iRjlNcS4W0Xy0M&hl=en&sa=X&ei=F3tHUYPA KYvA4APQz4H4Bw&ved=0CEsQ9QEwAw&dur=394 Regards Dave |
Looks like the center cap crests on my Fuch's. Especially with the 2 posts.

My '75 came with one about that size on the horn button. 3- spoke small diameter, thick rim wheel.

OK--Thanks to everyone for the info

I have the large grip wheel and it has the crest. I'm actually worried that I won't be able to find a replacement for it at some point. It was refurbished with the wheel, but you can never have too many of the rare bits.
