3rd brake light for a 87coupe

I am getting my 87 911 coupe back together and want a good 3rd brake light that will fit right and be better seen than the original one. Any thoughts?

High power LEDs in the air vents above the back window.

Hella Model 5237 LED third brake light. This one has the proper angle for SUV's behind you to see your brake light clearly.
Order from Daniel Stern Lighting, otherwise very hard to find in the USA.

I mounted mine across the top. Many here have done the aftermarket LED strips, but I like the factory look of the Hella unit.

Here's a photo of mine:

TONS of info/reading here on various types of third brake lights:

Enjoy!!

I picked up a brake light per the description in the above thread, and this spring it is going in!

LEDs recommended by others are most noticeable from afar. You can mount it up the glass in the middle. If you like OEM, this is the one you are looking.

Well... I pick up an original like you have pictured but want to get the best lighting I can get. I spent a boat load on the engine rebuild so a little extra to keep some butthead riding to close from plowing into me seemed like a good idea. There seems to be so much difference in what I have read in the past I am unsure which road to take.
I contacted Daniel Stern to see what he had to say. I personally like several options that I have seen posted
what to do...what to do

3rd brake light for a 87coupe

My wife took a pic following me the other day so you could see Stern's TBL mounted in my '83. It was a dreary day. Not sure her cell phone camera does a good job of capturing it accurately but it does give you an idea of relative brightness between the stock incandescent lights and the LEDs.
