Mann oil filter
Anyone know the part # for a Mann oil filter for a 77 911. I see advance auto parts is selling Mann filters but have no listing for a Porsche 911? Thanks Jerry

I believe Mann filter # W 940/29 will work.
For a small price difference I use Mahle from PP.

filter
Jerry, Purolator web site has L30260 classic filter that appears to be the same as the original Purolator 260. Advance auto has them for $8.99 each.

I used Mann, they work fine. it was a gift from a fellow pelican, I also have the Napa Gold, filter too well and restricts flow, if your oil line is crushed do not use it.
Default to Mahle, proven reliable.

While we are on the subject of possible alternative filters, Baldwin makes oil filters that are OK for Porsche. Baldwin makes high quality filters, mainly for industrial purposes. Heavy machinery has to keep running ($$$).
Nevertheless, I still swear by Mahle.
