Bruce Anderson is no longer with us

Stephanie just posted this:

This is not a posting that I expected or wanted to post.

Bruce passed suddenly around midnight last night at Kaiser Walnut Creek. Even though we had a good day yesterday, last evening he was found without a pulse. They did CPR and had him taken to emergency. The friends I am staying with rushed me to his side. We were with him to the end. He never regained consciousness.

This has been a 16 month voyage filled mostly with wonderful highs. Bruce fought so hard to get back on his feet. But in the end it was clear that he would never regain the strength and stamina that he needed to just be Bruce. However his wit and sense of humor never faltered.

Thank you all for all of your positive thoughts and prayers over the past 16 months. Your work is done. The world and I have lost a wonderful man.

Stephanie

We have all learned and benefited from the help and knowledge that Bruce shared with us for all these years. From his stories - his first ride in a 911 was in the "White Stallion" the 1964 car 300 032 that Dean Watts has raced for the last two decades. To meeting him at far away gatherings. He was always there when we had questions, and his advise was always spot-on.

He will be missed.

RIP to a real Porsche guy.

Finally met him @ Watkins Glen for the 50/50 in '98. (also my 50th birthday.)

Bruce will certainly be missed. He may have inspired more 911 enthusiasts than anyone outside of the Porsche family. His patience with novices and experts alike is something that we don't often see. He did a great deal to build a community among 911 owners.

Unfortunately this seems a long time coming. Bruce had a tough go of things over the last year.

Hopefully now he can rest.

His "911 Performance HandbooK" was the first Porsche book I ever read, back in 1997.

I can say that he with his straight and clear explanation of things gave me that kick to Porsches.

Bon voyage, Bruce!
