weight of an engine

Anyone know the weight of a 81 3.0 with everything on it, except AC and smog pump?

well lets see a big mac weighs about 6oz with everything on it, multiply that by 2400. comes out to about 144lbs. that seems awful light for an engine. any other guesses? leave the food out!

Lets do some quick math 2400x6=14400. divided by 16=900 lbs. So my smart azz almost funny answer is still wrong but..ahh never mind!

Hey I was bored to death at work this aft. what can I say? My initial guess was 1200 big macs(would of been close!) and then changed it to 2400 why? i dunno. anyway I'm not much of a smoker anymore, but at my age its amazing the buzz I can get from three Yuengling's.

ferrari2porsche - when I removed my engine and tranny I put it in the back of my Mecury Sable Station Wagon and hauled it all the way to Dallas then back to Baton Rouge after I finished working on it at my friends shop. Had it the car for about a month and never had any problems other than stange looks from passers by. And my wagon is a 3.0 v6 and only makes 141 hp. So I think that you will be fine if you put in an SUV. just my 2.0 cents.

The 441# is for the engine alone. The trans is any where form ~95# for the lightest mg case w/o lsd to ~127# for the heaviest al case w lsd & cooler.
