newbie graduation

ok, i got my awesome 86 targa in october 12. thats seven or so months. what is the official time when i am no long a newbie? is it chronological or based on work done to my baby.
so far i have
installed new radio and subwoofer
replaced headlights
tail light bulbs
license plate bulbs and holders
floor mats ha ha
installed performance chip
replaced cat with a delete
o2 sensor
k&n filter booo and drilled out air box
replaced window switch
transfer oil change
engine oil change
cleaned corrosion on alternator bulb, wouldn't let my alternator charge
an engine drop seems outer worldly to me now, but i do have 101 projects and just ordered the bentley.

Are you neglecting that E30 back there in the driveway since you got the Porsche? I'm interested to know the answer to the "Newbie status" as well... I jut got my first 911 a month and a half ago.

several things count toward your "novice" card but several don't. oil change, trans oil change, window switch, cat deleat, alt light clean up and several misc. bulbs good. BUT, a K&N WITH a drilled out air box??? that will cost you 10 points!!!, back to waxing on, waxing off.
P.S. put your car model and year in your signature, newbie

Ive had my car for a while now (6yrs roughly), done a lot to it, even been able to pass along some advice here, but every day I learn more from the forum and am amazed at how much some of the folks here know. I figure that next to them, I'll always be a newbie!

You're a newbie for as long as you can only ask questions on the forum. Once you can start answering them, you've graduated.

The three types of Porsche knowledge:
1) You don't know how to do things and ask lots of questions.
2) You think you know how to do everything, and don't ask enough questions.
3) You realize you will always have something to learn, and that teaching others improves yourself.

Fortunately Pelicans are mostly 1's and 3's. Watch out for the 2's!!!

Semantically, I think the "engine drop" is the rite of passage to "master." Newbie stage probably ends the first time your car won't run and you figure it out and fix it.
