I just picked up my 911 from the dealer for sevice and the problem I had with a hot start, after 30 min ,is not fixed they replaced the check valve and this did not fix it I asked them to check the fuel acumulator and they said that it was not the problem and becouse there are no wires going to it,and said the wires were cut and it will not work anyways . I have owned the car for 5 years and never had a problem with it . so any wires that are not present were never there while i owned it.so why cant they fix this or should i say, why wont they. they did not even do a pressure test on the acumulator like i asked them, not to mention other work i requested was not preformed- IE. 1. new tires: said they had to order them , that was on the 8th when i droped it off 2. the emegency brakes shoes on order still 3.voltage reg and alt. on order 4. heater hoses also on back order I find it hard to beleve that a porsche dealer dose not carry this stuff in stock or at least should be able to get this stuff in a reasonable amount of time I normaly would
do most of this stuff myself if it was not for my health problems. I am just so mad!!!! THE DEALER I went to is Danbury porsche audi in danbury ct usa AKA.WEEKS AUTO CORP.What should i do there are no other dealers locally, that I know of. Bob Albo |

post a thread asking for a recommendation for a good independent shop in your area. the dealers suck. the techs don't know the older cars and parts doesn't stock anything. it's universal.

I've noticed the same things as John. Often times there is a good repair shop in your area that you can trust. Here in the Olympia, Washington area, there are a fair number of German car repair shop. At least six or seven, probably more. Only one that I trust though.
The one that I trust would almost certainly never repalce a part that did not need replacing. And as far as getting parts, listen to this: I was standing in this shop after 5:00 pm on a Friday when I made the decision to replace my flywheel as part of the clutch job. He placed a call and found the part in a warehouse in California. I held that part in my hand at 10:00 the next morning (Saturday). I'd say you have every right to be angry. Fuel accumulators have no electrical wires connections or wires. ------------------ '83 SC |

Indeed, my local Porsche dealer is completely worthless. They have absolutely nothing in stock, not even simple, everyday items. Fortunately I have a local guy who can get me just about any part in two hours. If I'm not in a rush, I look to Pelican.
