Dual oil cooler pressure loss
Do you need to do any modification to the oil pump in order to handle an extra oil cooler.
I have seen the Elephant Racing set up and I am wondering if the oil pressure will drop by adding this extra cooler. |

I'm no expert here but I don't believe that it would matter. I see many cars with two oil coolers with no pump modification.

On the scavenge side you are dealing with flow...not pressure.
The return side of the pump flows back to the tank...which is a big cavity...so th only way for the scavenge side of the system to build up any real pressure is if the tank, filter, or a hose is pinching off the flow. Theoretically...you could put a dozen coolers in the return system as long as you understand the flow factor. Pressure is built up when a restriction is encountered...so...the overall flow is determined by the smallest hole in the line. Bob

So the oil coolers are placed after the oil passes through the engine ?
This cooled oil goes to the oil tank ? or to the engine bearings, etc. ? Do you have a flow diagram ? |

Now I think I understand how this system works. |
