Starkey's R-RS-RSR Book?
OK, I've got the 1995 edition (1st Edition?). It's got 160 pages. The newer 2001 edition has 279 pages!! What's on the extra 117 pages?! -- Curt

I could be wrong (I had the 1998 version), but I think the new one is larger due to the expanded (individual) chassis records section. I believe it now covers the `73RS models as well.

Eric, I just checked Amazon. They have a 1998 version described as 'Revised & Enlarged" at 198 pages. They've got 6 used ones at $168 each. Apparently, the 2001 edition was enlarged even more. I've never been that impressed with mine. It's OK, but light on Carrera RS info. Maybe the newer versions have corrected this. -- Curt

$168!!?? Man, I sold my mint 1998 copy a few weeks ago on eBay (already ordered the new edition), and only got around $60! I agree about the sparseness of the RS info on the previous editions. Hopefully this latest version will fill in the gaps a bit better. It is already off to a good start with the addition of the `73RS individual chassis records. I will give my full report as soon as the new one arrives.

The 2001 version is on eBay right now at $130 or so. I thought that sounded high? I think I paid $60 for mine a few years ago. -- Curt

Geez!
![]() A chassis record of all of the RS's as well as the previous RSR's! I'm sure that Warren already has it memorized. After a while the list of names and dates in my copy reminded me of a history class, and had the same results. And I don't even have the copy with the RS data. To be honest, if I had an RS, I'd snap up the new book up in a minute to get the history of my car. Since I could only afford an E, I don't think that I'll spend the extra $100 for the new version.

I've got the Forth edition of this book, I think it cost about £50 here in the UK. Information on the RS is a bit thin.
If you really want a good collectable Carrera RS book have a look at this site http://www.tag-books.com/htm/english.htm I got mine last year for about £150, expensive but reallly worth it. Anyone else seen this book?

Of course, 'Carrera RS' is essential. Where else could you learn if your RS came from the factory 'waxed' or not! That's the level of detail in this book. -- Curt
