Off Porsche topics: wheel lock key lost

Wy wife lexus has key locks for wheel lug nuts and I have lost the key. What is the best method to remove them without keys?

I think there are the Mcgard type, round on the outside, with notched internal patterns.

When I bought my 944, it had no key for the locks. Took it to Pep Boys. They have a tool to remove them. It will destroy the locking lug, but it is the only way.

snapon sells a tool that looks like a socket with tapered internal blades in a spiral pattern that basically is an external easyout. they even have a whole kit of different sizes to get a grip on rounded off nut/bolt heads.

If all else fails, vice grips or dremmel. Tire shops also sometimes have an assortment of aftermarket keys if it's worth the 15 minutes to check.

Unless you need it off right away due to a flat tire, go and find the key that will fit. If these are factory wheel locks, then the dealer should be able to help you out. If they are aftermarket, then go to a wheel shop and they should be able to get the correct tool for you. Beats destroying one lock out of the set.

Thank you all.

In the end, a 3/4 inch 12 point socket pounded onto the key lock, and an air gun did the rest. Those blasted locks, I have lost every single one that i have ever owned, and nobody wants to steal a set of old scratched up Lexus wheels anyway. I am going to replace them with regular nuts, and that is that.
