Put on the badging the other day. The "2,2"-reproduction sticker is sticky on the wrong side, which I may try to get corrected. But I kind of like the idea of it.

Jack, The old man would have loved you, and all of your racing/wrenching buddies, from what I've read about him. He was an engineer and the father of all hotrodders, not much of a concours guy.

The sticker is cool.

I love that 911 script on the black paint. Looks very good. The 3.6 sticker is also nice. I'm sure it will increase people's curiousity.

I dig that sticker too. But my 3.6 isn't carburated so I can't use yours. You have given me an idea though. Maybe I'll have a sticker made in the style of the old 2.7 emblem, but mine will read 3.6! Or, how about Carrera 3.6 RS?

17 inch fuchs-look wheels are also dynomite! How are they holding up at the track? Are they strong and light like the real fuchs?

Jack ... calling BB a 'lily' is a bit misleading!

But, there is a special variety of water lily that is suitably-sized and well-protected ... Victoria regina, a night-bloomer that fills the air with the scent of a fresh-cut pineapple when it first opens!

Here is a local one I snapped on 3 July 2002 ... a 15" flower from a plant putting out 7-foot diameter pads that are armored with 1" spines -- sharp as a needle, strong as steel, and able to fully penetrate sneakers! a suitable alter ego for BB ... discovered in 1801 in the Amazon region!

Where can 17" Fuchs be had?

The wheels have been great. The 10-inch ones weigh 18 pounds (by my bathroom scale), which is comparable to real Fuchs. And Immediately after fitting them, I did the seven-tracks-in-seven-days Open Track Challenge (plus one day before of open testing at Willow Springs) and they haven't shown any signs of stress at all. I'm currently on my third set of tires on them, and they're going strong. In fact, this week I should be getting their 'street' counterparts, a set of 8x9x17's in the same style. Needless to say, I'm a happy customer so far.

The cost? $1300 plus a set of four 6x16 donor Fuchs. (They're made by Lindsey Racing in Oklahoma.) Not bad for being able to fit 8x10x17 wheels with 245's in front and 275's in back. Guys typically pay more than that for a set of 7x9x16 factory Fuchs wheels.

Richard, my engine isn't carb'ed either, and my tub didn't originally come with a 2.2. But I figure the decal will still raise some eyebrows at the next R Gruppe gathering.

Warren, that's a gorgeous shot. A few weeks ago, I went on a tour of a botanic garden called Lotusland in Santa Barbara that had some spectacular lilies. It also had some kind of garish stuff, that must have seemed like a good idea back in the 1920's.

Jack, I am amazed every time I see a pic of your car! Lotusland is one of those tucked away gems we have here in SB. We make it there quite often. I will have to keep my eyes & ears open for you next time in your in the area.
