Can disconnecting the decel valve do any damage?

I know many people simply do away with the decel valve. I wanted to simply pull the hose off of the top, plug it, and be done.

If the car decides to burble and crack a bit more on deceleration because of doing away with the DV, can this cause any damage to exhaust gaskets or anything?

I know this is a silly question, but I like to be cautious

Thanks!

Well, I took the 911 out for the 1st time yesterday. I got it warm, then disconnected the top vacuum hose from the decel valve. The car returns to idle much faster, and the exhaust only "burbles" a bit. No cracking, popping or spitting as I thought might happen, so I'm good.

BTW, it felt great to get the car out!
