Sorry for your loss - but good luck with the new engine!

Tough break.
The intact piston/valves looked pretty clean deposit wise. How many miles on the motor?

quattrorunner 04-13-2014 06:42 PM

Holy!!
Gee in a situation like that, what's salvageable?

jsoderbe 04-13-2014 10:16 PM

Wow, what a carnage! Worst I have seen so far.... :-(

It wasnt a numbers matching engine, I hope?

havent got a clue about miles on car or motor, bought the car from a guy who got it from an auction ( inpounded due to someone not paying tax or something like it ), the guy that bought it couldnt get it running.. Well with some help I got it running.. but only got to drive it for a couple of weeks, then the engine .. imploded on me..

NO no, this is not a matching number engine, its been replaced earlier on somewhere, not much known on the whereabouts of this car, its like a puzzle everytime you look at anything.. but its sure fun both driving and trying to get it running

This makes my leaking external t-stat housing look like a blessing...

Good luck as the adventure continues.

I feel for ya, reminds me of when mine let go, except it made a rat, tat, tat. Chain ramp broke, got stuck in between the intermediate shaft/chain and housing, and that was all she wrote.
