CaliforniaClassix II: The Power of Cheese

Okay, kids, their back and this time they've got a burnt-orange '68 with the 2.7 from a '74 loaded in. IIRC, they were asking $10,500 for this puppy on their web site for the past month. I'm betting they get $15k for it on eBay. Here's the link:

1968 911

Highlights: the SWB cars are now "highly sought after?" I've been looking for one, but I'm weird. I assure you, look askance at any seller who tells you with a straight face that "another guy was just here and he's very interested." He's referring to a '73 someone else has...

"Rust free" except for the hole in the fender.

I like the idea of a 2.7 with Webers, but there's no mention of it being rebuilt.

Other opinions or thoughts?

I like the color, what is it, kind of burnt orange? On second look, make that Brick Red. Like the '73"E" that Curtisaa had; what is it called??

When it was on their web site, they described it as "Burnt Orange."

E-mail to CaliforniaClassix:

Can you explain "never had any rust" and "one tiny perforation" in the same paragraph. I'm confused.

Response:

Thank you for writing. Sorry for the confusion.
Just assume the car is completely rust-free, with one dime-size imperfection, basically an enlargement of the drain hole, on the bottom of
the right front fender. This car would likely be called "rust free" everywhere but at californiaclassix; just the semantics had to suffer . . .

Cheers,

Bill
