Installing glass, SC and Carrera
Hi, When installing the quarter glass and front and rear windscreens, does the metal locking strip have to be put on first? I have installed the rear glass and one quarter window and find it very difficult to bead the metal locking strip in the quarter glass. On other cars I was able to do the locking strip AFTER the seal and glass were in.
It almost seems this has to be done on the 911 at the same time. Locking strip into the seal, glass in the seal, all pressed in at the same time. Thanks for the help. ![]() nf '79 SC coupe '82 SC Targa |

Assemble glass, trim strip and rubber first then install into the car via the string method.

Yup....trim goes in the seal before you install the window.

Like they said, the trim goes in B4 installing. Then its an easy job.
