New Dansk install
I'm thinking about upgrading my stock muffler to the sport dansk. Is there anything else I need to purchase inorder to install this new muffler? Meaning things that are not included with the new muffler.
I figure that this has to be a simple install, just un bolt from the cat, undo the supporting bands, drop out the old, and install the new. Am I right? Can I use the old band since the mufflers are of the same design? I know that the bolts to the cat will be hard to remove. I plan to soak them with WD40 overnight at least. I have heard that heat will also help, but all I have is one of those little torches used for burning the sugar for creme brulee'. Will that work?

To hang the muffler is a easy job to get the bolts off that could be a major pain, I took my car over to a local welder $15.00 and on your way its not worth the pain it they wont budge.
Use a floor jack in the center to lift the muffler into place.

Not sure if it applies here, but Wayne had a tip a while back which seemed kind of slick (especially if you're doing this by yourself). Apparently the band ends can be tough to hold together close enough to get the bolt started. He took a longer bolt with the same thread pattern and used it to pull the ends together, wrapped a zip tie around to hold them together and then replaced the long bolt with the correct one. I haven't dealt with the muffler yet so I don't have first hand experience here but I thought it might help. If I remember correctly, he lost a bit of blood trying to do this before he came up with this tip.

dansk muffler 1nstall
If you don't have access to a torch, you'll probably need a supply of new hacksaw blades to cut the old bolts. I just installed new ssi heat exchangers and the dansk two-in single-out sport muffler. I love the combined sound of the exhaust, the wind and that mfi engine at about 120-130 kph! But, my wife can only tolerate it for a short period of time. Sure do miss her!!

WD-40 is a water displacer/lubricant. Use Blaster on the bolts overnight.
Good luck.

What is the procedure to use with the torch? Do I just heat up the bolts then try right away to break them loose?
