Really stupid things that make you smile

Hi all,

This is really stupid but it put a smile on my face. Bare in mind that I was having a Porsche high. I had just replaced the bushings to gear shift lever and it felt as if I had had the transmission rebuilt. All the gears were where they were supposed to be and went straight in. Anyway...

I tried to get a new inspection sticker last month to replace the one that expired May 2001. They guy at Jiffy Lube (just went there for the inspection- no oil change) said I wouldn't pass with my current tires, so I bought a set of Yokohama AVS that were on special from the tirerack. Yesterday, I finally got my inspection done. When I was done I look down and notice the big numbers 7 and 3 for the expiration date and said "Cool, the year of my car."

Lastly, one good thing about 911 wipers parking on the left- you can hide the inspection due date under the wiper, thus prolonging the time between inspections.

and in the fall you can tuck some leaves under the wiper further obscuring the inspection sticker.

Move to IL and nobody says diddly squat about the condition of your car. Tires, windshield, lights, ............... nobody checks these things. Just drive. It could be the biggest pile of crap, doesn't matter here in IL. Just so long as it passes the emissions test.

Move to Nebraska and nothing matters - doesn't even really have to be a car!

Cool

Missouri has started an inspection program for odd year cars and even year cars. Thus a license renewal for an odd year car doesn't need and inspection if you buy a license for a year during an even year. The reverse is true for an even year car during an odd year. Thus if you have an old 935 sitting around gathering dust and wish to drive it every other year, Missouri is the place.

Good luck,

Um, I just bought an odd year car for registration in Missouri.

Have to have inspection THIS year, and NEXT year, then I'm on the every-other-year schedule.

But it's not a 935...

Here in good ole' Vermont the inspection sticker is high up on the windshield... right about where the rear view mirror attaches. The only way my wipers could block it is if they stalled in a vertical position.

There is no "sniffer" test, but the local boys love to break your balls about windshield cracks, bald tires, and burned out bulbs... hell they even test the horn.
