Porsche 911 "340"

I searched but I couldn't find the answer to this question: What's up with the "340" in my model type? Is there a list of all the types somewhere?

Pictures?

911340xxxx

would be a 1973 model year 911 coupe, but I don't know how to explain the 4. 1 is a 911T, 2 is 911E, 3 is 911S, and 6 is 911RS.

It's an '88 Coupe. Here is what I'm talking about (next to "Type"):

It's a Porsche order code.

911340 is a 911 coupe.
911440 is a 911 targa.
911640 is a 911 cabriolet.

Etc.

You generally won't see these codes except in factory order books and related correspondence from the Porsche importer of those years to the dealers.

Cool. Was wondering if it was something special like the Club Sport or similar.

T-Tops would have been cool...might have helped the chassis rigidity problems of the Targa.
