I am looking to sell various 3.0 engine parts and would like to get input on a fair "retail asking price" for these components. I understand that they are only worth what someone is willing to pay but if anyone has recently sold or shopped these parts, please let me know what a fair asking price would be. If you are interested in the parts, let me know too but don't tell me they are only worth $10
All parts are from a 3.0 1983 911 engine believed to have 50k miles. All components are cleaned and protected and do not have any signs of excessive wear or any damage. 1) engine case halves 2) Crank 3) Cams - Core value 4) Cam towers 5) Oil pump 6) Intermediate shaft 7) Rods 8) Engine shroud (needs re-painting) 9) Heads - unused. re-built with new valves, springs, and guides Thanks! --Dan |

i would be interested in a case and/or crank if the price is right. when you settle on a value let me know. the trouble with pricing things, is most poeple are looking for a deal, and don't want to pay wrecking yard prices. the high estimates that you get are what the going rates at the yards are, and you'll sit on the parts a long time.

I would be interested in some of the parts
i would like it all except the crank, rods, heads I think selling parts seperate is harder but more profitable... if you think a tired SC engine in need of a rebuild is about 2500...and yours is a disassembled engine...you can probably guess that without induction, oil cooler, exhaust, dizzy, fan/alt, CDI boxes, etc...you entire package is worth about 1000-1200 the cams are desirable to the 930 crowd... 1) engine case halves 2) Crank 3) Cams - Core value 4) Cam towers 5) Oil pump 6) Intermediate shaft 7) Rods 8) Engine shroud (needs re-painting) 9) Heads - unused. re-built with new valves, springs, and guides let me know MJ |

A core 3.0L long block is worth about $2000-$3500 depending upon where in the country (or world) you are...

wayne...by long block do you mean an engine straight out of the car...
with the induction and exhaust removed? or is that just a case with the internals? my 2500 price estimate was and engine with everything except the induc and exhaust (dizzy, engine oil cooler, etc...) |
