heat shield (?) question...

Hi guys,

I have just bought a 911 SC (1979) and I am in the process of respraying it.

It seems the previous owner installed some kind of heat reflective foam / silver material against the back on the engine bay (inside the engine bay, behind the engine , pretty much against the back of the rear seats). It is about 3/4 in thick.

I am not sure if this is stock of aftermarket material.
Any idea where I could find something similar?

Best,

Matt

That silver thing is an aftermarket sound barrier, the OE is black foam. I just replaced mine and went with OE, but if you prefer the silver foil, it's still available.

Caveat, this is difficult if not impossible to replace without dropping the engine. It's a 'while your in there' item.

thanks!

yes engine is down, so I will try to source it and get it replaced.
Any idea where to find the silver foil version?

Best,
