Rennsport group 3 in car and tv coverage. 1971 911S ST 2.5
Hi
I thought you might like to see this video from Rennsport. In car and tv coverage together. Video shows a 20th place start and shows my progression through the field. This is the Eiefel group 2.0-2.5 911 and 914 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QAObQTokEtA Last edited by Fubawu; 10-27-2018 at 03:23 PM.. |

Thanks guys, cars was really solid. We had an issue in qualfying so we started towards the back. The only changes I would make to the car would be longer 2nd and shorter 3rd and 4th gear along with more rear camber. These two changes would have allowed me to make a run at the lead. Such a great event , can't say enough good things. Machine-Motorsports, EuroTune and Klubsport we're all a big help

John,
You were really peddling that car around the track. The car looks to really be dialed i You are real comfortable great driving, extracting the potential of the car without it biting back. Your other video with Ralphs old car is a good example of the amount of time needed to dial a car in after you have all the components in place. Even with a pro driving just a small detail like the shifter will put an end to the day. Been there done that. Awsome video and big efford to get those cars such a long tow from behind the cheese curtain Last edited by dsfnctn; 10-27-2018 at 08:46 PM.. |

That´s awesome, brilliant drive. It looks like a great set-up and you are really making some power in that ST. Thanks for sharing. Thanks - Olsen911 - Tommy Olsen

Perfect blend of man and machine , as evidenced by ,among other things, the gentle slap on the steering wheel @ the 10:22 mark,- for delivering the perfect output for the given input at the given moment - man I would love to have that kind of rhythm.

Great video. Enjoyed it. Your where making good power but also good brakes. If you can't get them out of the corner you can get them going in.

Very cool, thanks for sharing.
Are those Hoosier TDR's? How do they compare to something like a Toyo R888 or a Hooiser R6 or R7?

Hard to say as this was my first time at Laguna. In regards to comparing them to R7's or 6's I think the grip on those can't compare. I would put them on par with R888'r's The new r888 is hands down better then the old tire. I was under tired in the rear of this car and will make the adjustment in the spring.

A few more changes being made, going with Bilstein RSR rear shocks better rebound and lighter (saves 2lbs), new lite weight tail light set up from Rothsport (saves 5lbs) Adjusted the way the two coils are mounted (saves 1lbs) Brembo rear alloy calipers from the early 70's saves another 5lbs!!
Will also do another alignment as the car needs a little more rear camber. I'm debating changing the gearing to longer 2nd and shorter 3 and 4. I'm wondering if going with a lighter flywheel might help with being slightly out of the power band on corner exit. 3 -4 of the corners where an issue. Not worth the extra down shift but bogging slightly on exit. Need to squeeze a little more out of it if I'm going to catch Patrick Long ![]()

Oh, I remember this race. I remember because this was the race group Patrick Long usually runs in. That and I was the Starter for this race. I remember most of the race I started.
