Fan shroud wiring grommet?
What is the best way to seal the hole in the fan shroud after removing the wiring. My grommet was all dried out and broke apart as I tried to remove it.
I went to the local Porsche dealer and he said it was no longer available. Thanks, Kirk |

Any good auto parts store should have grommets in different sizes for less than $1 each. If you find a grommet which is to large it can be cut to fit in the hole.

I didn't have much luck finding grommets at hardware stores around here. The sizes were too limited. I'd suggest you go to Aircraft Spruce (www.aircraftspruce.com). They have a huge selection, quick service by web or phone, and you can buy grommets individually instead of in lots of 100. I ended up replacing the grommet you speak of with one that I got from there -- it didn't exactly match the factory grommet in appearance, but it worked just fine.
If you go to the main site, do a search on "grommet." You may have to poke around a bit to find what you want; I'd start by checking out this page on their site: Grommets Good luck, Rob |

After doing a search on the site I found several posts about the fan shroud wiring grommet.
The end result of every thread was no parts available from Porsche or Pelican. I guess I will go to the local hardware store and search around unless one of you folks have a source for the part. If one of you found a great solution please share the source.
