Floor board stud stripped?
On the drivers side of my 82 coupe the floorboard stud is all but gone. Should I cut flush and drill out to use a nut/ bolt? Any other ideas/ solutions? Thanks.

Sure, why not. Why make it more complicated? Using a brass screw/nut will prevent this from happening again.

that's what I did - seal it well with epoxy and to avoid water intrusion
that is the only fastener I have stripped on a car in my memory - maybe back to the 1970s... |

One option is to grind flush, drill and tap for a M6 thread. At that point, you have these options:
a. Install a button head screw from the underside (stainless or otherwise). b. Install a stud or set screw c. Weld or braze any of the above in place or apply Loctite or silicon sealant to seal the threads from the elements. Sherwood |
