Loosening a distributor nut??

I have a 1970 911 Targa. I'm going over the dwell, timing etc but have been stopped in my tracks by a 'simple' problem. How is the nut loosened on the distributor to set the timing? Is there a special tool to do this? I can't get a ring spanner over it because of the distributor and their is limited room to manoeuvre a regular 13mm spanner. This could prove to be a stupid question but hey, if you don't ask!!

Use a ratchet wrench with an extension on it, along with a 13mm socket.

1/4 drive, extension, one of the peices which allows you to turn a socket from an angle and a 13mm socket...loosen slightly before you have the car running...very careful with the car running...when tightening just tighten enough to hold in place then turn off engine and tighten as needed...
