I really like looking at Porsches, but I am very thankful that we don't see every car in the signatures.

emcon those field trips are great examples of what's not wrong with Pelican!

There are some on this board, that don't accept the, " no attitudes allowed" as we do in the Rgruppe. Your words are very well understood, by those of us that are ONLy here because of our passions. As, you already know, you are accepted by the the Rgruppe and all of those who understand our creedo.
Funny, most of the mean spirited attitude I sense *comes* from the RGruppe types. Your motto "You either get it or you don't"... how elitist.

I mean, are you "the" Keith Seume , from Cornwall – SW England and Features Ed' - 911 & Porsche World ?
Yeah? Be buggered!
The "1%" eh? How's it feel?

Does ya boss - Chris Horton, know you're sprookin' that sorry tale "here"?!? As he ponders a sudden dip in subscriptions next month.
Bummer, that's torn it. He may have deserved a spanking, but now every time I buy that rag I'm gonna be reminded of some poor bastard who lost his ride cos you shanked it from him.
Which was it? The "914/6" or the "European '74 2.7 Carrera"?

Just a couple of thoughts. Sarcasm and chain-jerking is fine with me. I'm guilty of and been the target of both, and it adds some fun to the board. But I think a line gets crossed sometimes here when the comment goes beyond the subject matter of the post and into really nasty (and unfounded and uncalled for) insults directed at the poster. IMO, if you can't stand a few humorous/sarcastic responses to a post, you're taking this board too seriously; and if you get so incensed by a post that you launch a mean-pirited attack on the poster, you're taking this board too seriously. I love the 911, and for the record, I think the styling on the 996 sucks, but they're both just cars. So let's have some fun with them.

Nostatic has been flamed by me...and others. But you know, his neverending quest for the "right" car has turned him into a true contributor to the board. He now has a great general knowledge of the + and - of various 911 models. "Zip", even if he was legit, was an instant turn off to me...and I'll 'fess up to that. Given past trolls we've suffered here, including gay porn posted under names close to legit names, I'm surprised that only a few of us became suspicious...

As has been noted in the past, sometimes internet boards fall short when trying to convey exact feeling or meaning. Why this is so I couldn't tell you, since the written word has been doing this very well for eons, but it seems to be the case. Maybe something to do with instantaneous response speed that was not possible before unless one was passing notes in 5th period science class.

As for Keith Seume, I really, really want to believe that you are not a complete twat so that I don't hate myself when buying your rag, but you make it impossible. There definitely is such a thing as actual libel, and maybe you were actually slandered, but for someone in your position, (marginally significant though it may be), to post that story on this forum w/o background shows YOU to be a bit of an internet creep. You are not exactly looking for love around here, are you?

I also was disgusted when Wolfturbo was accused of being a phony simply because he was new and had a car that a lot of people want. Being asked to produce one's VIN# as a condition of posting here would have stopped me dead in my tracks. I'm really surprised that he did not tell this group to F.O. and just go drive his cars. My advice for anyone suspecting a "non-car owner", would be to keep it to yourself. Nothing could be more insulting to a new member, or paint yourself in a more unflattering light. And really who cares?

I do love this board and value the input of almost everyone. Take care.

This BB is really quite civil, compared to some others I have seen. On one BB devoted to Speedster replicas, the moderator took a poll to decide whether to expell one member, and threats of legal action were flying back and forth. As others have said, you just have to have a thick skin, and take time out before sending a flaming response to someone who has offended you.

I am absolutely disgusted that Keith S brags about having forced someone to sell his 911 to pay legal fees for having criticised Keith S. Never, ever, will I buy your magazine. Can we have a poll to expell him from the BB??

Certainly don't want to be seen as defending Kieth S., (the twat), but the last post is a perfect example of communication being lost even from one page of a post to the next. In his original, and only post of this thread, he(Kieth S.), did NOT say what kind of car the guy had to sell to pay his legal fees,(NOT give the car to K.S. as a settlement), in fact he did not mention recieving any monetary settlement from the defendant. He may or may not have. England has some goofy libel laws, only vaguely similar to the U.S. He may have even been genuinely libeled, (who knows), but to present it here with no facts and leering grin is what I find disgusting.

In these long threads, I find myself needing to go back and read previous pages of posts, including my own, to remember what has been said. Interesting phenomenon.

Great, 2 lines of content and 30 lines of signature and a 640X480 picture of some jokers engine. "

The tongue-in-cheek sig by "Pigface 1" is classic. Had me chuckling a lot. Thing is, the following posters seemed oblivious to the jab and kept on with their "chrome engine dress up by blah blah, floor mats by Coco, lowered, NGK plugs, MoMo shift knob, ad nauseum. Either that or their sense of humor was too subtle for my webnet brain.

Emcon5. Thanks for the pointer.

Thumbs up Efrain,thanks

.... getting reminded most of the time; like getting a great waiter or the emotionally handicapped when you manage to take a break from the grind. Sometimes I'm the one with an attitude when the GRIND got to me. You have to take folks as they are or send your check to NRA and start eliminating with extreme passion...and pleasure. What a geat site (thanks Wayne) and the black alternate of not having a place to go to listen to true P brains when you need help fixing and have the nuts to get dirty /expose your lack of knowledge and PM your own toy. It is a little odd when some "guests" have the need to tack totally bogus remarks on a legitimate question.

Opinions are like A**H**** everyone has one

Wow! I am Famous, or Notorious not sure which

A couple of thoughts; I think I realize that I made three mistakes:

1. I chose the user name Zip which seemed like a nifty name at the time but for some reason it bothered people

2. I didn't do my homework and even though Porsche refers to the 996 as a 911 I should have called it a 996

3. I mentioned the Parktronic thing, which I admit does not belong on a sports car

With all of the above, I didn't think the responses were that bad and I could see where some of the posters were coming from. I have seen far worse comments on BB's and I am a big boy, and was not to bothered by it all

As probably the newest member in here, I've got to say that this BBS is priceless. No matter the idiotic question, someone has an answer. One person even scanned 2 pages from the Bentley manual and sent them to me.

The sarcasm...a few times I have nearly p*ssed my pants reading the stuff.

I suppose you're lookin to play the blame game John. If you have a tiny bit of reading comprehension you will come to the conclusion Effrain thinks the rgruppe is a very "no attitude " gruppe. You can add all the gasoline you want to to your motor, but you're wheels are starting to whobble. Tighten the lug nuts, and get back in the race............

Funny mike, I never liked you. And this is a prime example of what this thread is about. If some of us could learn to contain ourselves. Thats the old me! You got me back, if you want it brother!

So within this thread, it seems as though we have a set of bi-coastal flames going on. Maybe we should formalize this into a west coast-east coast war, kinda like the rap world a few years back.

Yo, left coast Pelicans RULE!

OK, who wants to be Shug Knight?

Hey Nostatic -

All of us blue bloods on the east coast know the weird ***** happens on the west coast long before its acceptable in the east. They used to say the west coast is where the trends start. Now we talk about the demorilization of our society.
