What is the recommended sealer for the oil return tubes on a 911 engine.
BA suggest Dow Corning 111. I haven't found a source for that around here. |

If you really want Dow-Corning, try:
APPLIED INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY, Burr Ridge, IL 708-396-1400 Ask for Don. He was a pretty nice fella (anybody can help you). I think he sold me some 112 for $9 and change per 5 oz. tube. I got the 112 because it has a higher temp. rating. Others have used Sil-Glyde (any auto parts store). ------------------ Kevin 87 Carrera coupe [This message has been edited by KTL (edited 08-24-2001).] |

Applied Industrial Technologies has locations nationwide. Call the number above and they can give you the number for the location closest to you. They can get either the 111 or 112.

Sil-Glyde works great for me. Easy to find.

Thanks for the advise. I am not hung on Dow Corning but I didn't know what else to use.
I hope I can find the Sil-Glyde at Advance or AutoZone as they have a very limited stock. Mostly Permetex(?). Again Thanks Osidak 78 911sc |

it's not a sealer, just a lubricant to get the seals to pop into their holes. oil or white lube is the normal substitute.
