"I drive an old Porsche, 1973 body, ‘83 subframe and a ‘93 motor--the best of every decade."

I'm gettin' excited here...

and then, "It's an overcast day but warm, the top is down" and I realized the real reason he wasn't going fast through the twisties.

Congrats on your instant stardom! I agree through, a Penthouse forum moment would have been better.

My V1 has paid for itself many times over. Even when not pushing it, it's fun to sniff out the revenuers. Have lots of stories about the V1 but baiting Hondas to race before an up coming speed trap (punch it, watch them take off and then hard brake) is great fun

My Escort Passport has saved my bacon too many times to recall in the 14+ years I've had it....and not just in my Porsche...

I wrote it over a year ago. I'm pretty sure they edited it.

"Instant - on" is the enemy and quite hard to beat with a patient cop.....all else can be "handled"..

I know mine has saved me arse many times over the past several years!

GOOD ONE!

laser has spoiled things a bit, but there is still plenty fo KA band around that is not instant on.

And you can do something about laser too if you want to.

Having just been nailed by radar a few days ago I am interested to know what can be done about it...
I recall a comment-possibly by Satch Carlson-that the only good radar detector was one that left the radar gun a smoking ruins in the POs hands!

When Speeding it's never the best idea to be the leader in the pack. The good news is that Laser splatter off the front runner can be read by the V1 giving you time to put the binders on. Unless they have mutiple guns, likely you can skate.

As to the writing style.....mostly me but some quirks that I don't remember. Can't check the original as the HD that it was stored on is muerte......I think I may have been sober or had a lucid moment.

BTW.....Rumor has it....Geico is the leader of freebie radar donations to the PDs.

Radar is simply revenue enhancement.

The 83 SC is the first 911 cab. It's a back date, 73 RS graphics and f/g panels from TRE....the 3.0 fell out of it and I found a 3.6 just laying around....

Thinking back, I seem to remember that I was discussing a "How Fast Are You Going Sign". In the Gaviota area they have a high energy sign that every detector can "see" from around two corners. The SBSO and CHP like to hide behind the sign and use Ka band and Laser. They may even be hooked into an interface on the sign radar or have repeaters up the road.

That part was edited out....the main reason I backed off was the multiple reads from disimilar radars that I had not seen in this area. The V1 can read all four bands and Laser at the same time. Since this is the only model I have ever had, I don't know if this unique.

You can jam laser (light) but not radar frequencies (at least, not legally).

Best!
