Most used or salvage part places want to sell the top as a whole. I broke the driver side bow assembly when one of my motors stopped working and the top bound up until it broke. I went through the process and ended up buying the part new. I would stay away from dealer prices. I went through Dave at GPR parts and he got me the part for about 50% of the dealer price.

When I adjusted mine, I unhooked the arms from the bow of the top. I was then able to adjust each side without dealing with the top going up and down. I would disconnect one motor and raise or lower them until I got them working in sync at the same time. It was very time consuming but not to difficult. You have to have the top in the down position because the microswitches in the latch area will keep the motors from turning.
