Ok, now you have to give us the full specs of this engine.

What heads is this running? What Cams? Details on the COP?

Also interested, did you take a reference off the cam for timing?

rsscotty 06-01-2013 09:19 AM

Engine specs

This engine runs DTA S60 engine management, wasted spark, no sync. sensor.
Bosch TPS used as load sensor
MAP sensor for baro comp
Bosch air temp sensor
993 RS flywheel 60-2 with 993 Bosch reference sensor
Four 3 channel ignitors
Omega high comp. pistons
Elgin cams
Proprietary cast aluminum heads
Proprietary 2 pin connector COP Intake uses Early RSR plug hold down tabs
Exhaust uses no hold downs, COP screws onto the plug, tops push on like stock ones
Rothsport stainless headers with our own design v-band secured connector pipe
GT 3 Cup muffler with factory engine bracket and straps

We have another build like this engine in a 964 that has slides with our own design screw in stacks that makes 436 hp. This one is wasted spark also.

More intake options

Rothsport GT3 carbon intake. It weighs 6 lbs. compared to the metal factory @ 12 lb.

OK...this was our first prototype 3.9 engine for Jeff's RSR on the slide valve system, and air filter setup.. We have about 40 more horsepower now, with newer engine management and quite a few new developments. The exhaust turn outs are to meet the 103 db limit at the local track where we test.

Scotty, does the car in the video have the gt3 cup exhaust?

rsscotty 06-07-2013 09:15 AM

Exhaust

No, this engine had the Magnaflow muffler and older version headers we used in the past. Our new headers and GT3 muffler are on the car now.

Thanks guys.....

Here are a couple shots of our exhaust setup. I'll fill in the details on the engine later.

Scott I still come back to this thread to review once in a while .. its just lovely.
I see in this pic of the exhaust there's a massive gap between the valve covers and the exhaust - is that to increase cooling/decrease exhaust to valve transfer? Is that possible in a NB car or only cos you have those mamma hips on the GT2 body?

Or am I wrong and there isn't much to worry about from the collector pipe to valve covers/ig wires, and you just did that for the size of the GT3 muffler?

rsscotty 12-04-2017 11:23 AM

That engine was one of our early builds a few years back. We are using our own design headers now and we do use a heat shield to protect the valve cover and coil on plugs.

HiWind 12-04-2017 11:45 AM

super thanks for that - do you sell those headers/exhausts?
