Oil leak at oil tank, keeps reoccurring... Permanent Fixes?

The rubber hose that connects from the bottom of the oil tank to feed oil to the pump seems to leak at it's connection to the tank. Went a year with no issues then began to leak.

So, last oil change I confirmed no leaks from above dripping down and I also slightly pressurized the oil tank and the hose assembly using with soapy water to confirm no pin holes. I noticed the tank outlet nipple had a bit of weld solder spatter so I sanded this smooth, probably not necessary but can't hurt. After putting it together I went 6 months without a leak but now after sitting in the garage for a few weeks it's back.

Aside from adjusting the hose clamp tightness does anyone have any advice?

I'm considering completely eliminating these hose clamps since this is a critical connection. Perhaps AN fitting welded to the tank. Has someone done this and have examples or advice or a better solution?

Make sure the hose just above the S hose is not leaking. They are prone to sweating from the crimp fitting and it will drip onto the larger hose. Clean everything and wrap the hose above for a couple of days. If your S hose remains dry I would look to replacing the return hose.

Might consider the OEM clamp. That hardware store version can pinch the hose and have uneven pressure around the circumference.

Buster... I agree with CPA. Here are some shots from my '80 for reference. (I just replaced all the plumbing.)

330,000 miles on these lines. I believe this is the line CPA is referring to... the external thermo to oil tank line... it's connection at the oil tank and crimp.

The right rear wheel well being pressure cleaned --- I was loosing (and buring) 3 qts a month over less than 600 miles. Much of it obviously in the vicinity you are dealing with.

Again the same line as above but the crimped fitting near the external thermo. All the lines in the right rear wheel well were caked in oil so was impossible in my case to see what condition they were in. This is after pressure cleaning.
