EuroEast is the best online source for used parts as far as fast shipping and customer service. Seems like the owner might be a bit of a pud....:D

Mike, good luck with the refund. I tried to go that route, and it went nowhere. Still don't have my part, and still don't have my money, and they still won't return any e-mails.

I had good luck with EuroEast, though. Very happy with them.

I "WON" an eBay bid for a fuel pump for a 72 911 MFI last week, paid within 10 minutes and NOTHING to date from Partwerks to my emails etc.

I now think a new one for $500 is going to turn out to be a better deal then the $99.95 + Shipping + core = $142.60 bid I won.

AND, they still have the same pump on eBay for bids??????????

I am starting to think they do not have these parts in stock, but are just passing the orders thru them to some warehouse, somewhere.

Attention re: Partwerks reactivate thread

For all those Pelicans who have been wronged by Partwerks, here is your call to action.

I have been in contact with Daniel Ligocki, a representative from the Illinois State Attorney General's Office. I filed a formal complaint against Partwerks a couple of months ago, concerning their failure to deliver a 1997 993 DME as Purchased and Invoiced as part of a larger deal. Mr. Ligocki stated that approximately one complaint per year trickles into his office regarding Partwerks. There were none for '04 except for my own. Is this possible? Jay has not responded to mine yet due to "family issues." He has a week to respond.

If you want action, here is your opportunity. I have alerted Mr. Ligocki as to Partwerks's recent alleged change of name on Ebay. I told him about the shipping woes, the fake Behr parts and fraudulent practices as you have described here on the forum. I sent him links to the forum so he could read them himself. The only problem is: these alleged practices have no bearing unless you Pelicans fill out a consumer complaint form.

Here it is. Pleae take a few minutes for humanity if you have been wronged by Partwerks. The hammer will likely come down if you respond. My solitary complaint is just that--solitary.

http://www.ag.state.il.us/consumers/conscomp.pdf

Address it to:
Mr. Daniel Ligocki
Office of Att'y General of Illinois
Consumer Protection Division
100 W. Randolph St.
Chicago, IL 60601

Or call 312 814 3866 and talk to him yourself. But please fill out the form first.

This goes for everyone; please don't feel alone in this matter. Your complaints have greater meaning if the Attorney General sees a "pattern." We will all benefit!!

Of course you could always go through the bad feedback on ebay and contact the people who have been burned and send them this link.. Just a thought..

Interesting point. The 100+ negative feedbacks left for Partwerks in the last year have now been made "private" and can only be viewed by folks who have dealt with them on Ebay. Of course, Partwerks is now a non-registered account. Allegedly now "Blondde"

AND, the folks recently burned by Blondde, do not have anything for sale, therefore, there is no link to contact them with.

Great idea though!

206aa 02-03-2005 04:57 PM

You can actually contact the ones that were burnt by Blondde. Click on their username while looking at the feedback. You will be prompted to login with your ebay credentials. Then you can send them a "question"...

I thought I tried that. When I clicked on their used ID, I was directed to their feedback profile, but I could not get any further. Without items to sell, I don't think there is a contact link for those folks.

206aa 02-03-2005 06:22 PM

There is a "Contact Member" button once you click on the userid when viewing the blondde's feedback.

So do a search for auctions by blondde. Then click on the ebay users that left the bad feedback. It will force you to login with your ebay credentials. Then choose the contact member tab..

Check out my post in the Blondde thread.

Chip, I'd like to suggest that you start a new thread with only the Attorney General info and give it a title like "Help Stop Partwerks Fraud" or something, then post links from all the other threads. Might be easier to find and a lot more effective at putting this scumbag out of business.

Chip 02-04-2005 05:22 AM

Great idea. I did that on the 911 classifieds forum. Then, I figured that anyone who has had a bad experience has already discussed it at some point in other forums, so I went and woke up the old posts. There have been at least 15 responses from the various old threads. I had no idea the problem was this big. I may wait a little bit before starting new posts. If you would like to cut and paste my Atty General response, feel free. I endorse it. Just let me know where you put it.

Done.

Blondde

Iwon an auction for a porsche fan ,the auction sid they'd throw the upper part in for free. Three weeks and five unanswered emails later I asked paypal to get my money back. Three days after they began their investigation I got the fan with out the upper part I was promised so I left negative feedback. I then got an email with a story about this being this guy's wife's business and she was dying and in the hospital and wishing me the same for giving him the negative feedback. I assume he's full of it,but if he's not he sucks at customer service. Wishing your customers death doesn't encourage repeat business.

Partwerks resolution

To all that have been following the saga, the tirades, and the stories of those adversely impacted by the business practices at Partwerks:

With the help of the Attorney General's office in Illinois, Jay at Partwerks, and the fellow Pelicans who responded to my call to duty, I have received reimbursement for the DME which was owed to me via a deal with Partwerks.

I expect the benefits of our organization to be widespread, as Jay is allegedly responding to all those who wrote to the Attorney General as I recommended. Jay (Partwerks) is now committed to making amends. I give him accolades for this, and others should as well.

I commend all those involved and those still involved, especially those who did not get caught up in mindless banter with dissenters on these BB's.

As I've said before, my hat goes off to the administrators for remaining neutral and being quick to shut down threads where people had become "inappropriate." Keep up the good work.

***So if anyone has a 964 DME p/n 964.618.124.03 or.04 let me know. I have the resources to buy one:)
