door stay that i replaced works in 2 positions,but it clicks when i move door to open?

Check to see if the door metal that supports the stay is not bent. It may be hitting because the whole panel is bent

"There are multiple threads on this. The John Walker fix is to use a 6mm bolt and nyloc nut in place of the press fit pin. Tighten just enough to prevent unwanted movement. No more pop. "
