Ever felt like driving your 911 ALL day?

Man, what a great morning!

My daughter and I took the 911 to get a donut this morning. 3 hours later we are back home. We met a couple from Toronto with a stunning 2012 Turbo whilst there.

I didn't want to stop driving, though. Everything about the SC just feels/sounds fantastic today.

I need to find a reason to make a store run later.

driving

I know how you feel.

Just completed a drive, with about a dozen others, from Seattle, WA to Solvang, CA and back......by way of all of the twisty bits along the way. Literally drove all day,,,,,,,,for several days, to & from.

Here is the crew, in Leggett, CA, on Highway 101, getting ready to take highway 1 out to the coast. Some of the best driving ever.

After a hard day at work, sometimes I take the long way home. It's nearly 90 miles out of my way. Not any more than about 100 yards of straight stretch at any point in the entire trip.

These cars encourage you to drive them. There is something about them that begs for it. When I was looking into buying one, I thought that the gushing over the driving was some sort of overblown "look at me" internet-posing kind of thing. I was mistaken about that.

It's just the kind of car that makes you feel that way. We've got a perfect day for it here. Too bad I'm busy setting the garage up for the upcoming phase 1 hot rodding project. I'd love to take mine for a little adventure today!

I love driving all day and the hard part is pointing it toward home. Shutting it off in the garage is the worst...

Ikosmal, wow that sounds like a fantastic drive, down the coast most all the way I imagine. I did it few years ago in a little motorhome, and at each corner I was wishing for something more fun.
Makes me imagine a camping road trip, why not in the German tradition?
Hope you live south of the bridge....

Did the same thing yesterday. Needed a few bits at the hardware store - sunny day top off - ended up taking the frontage road along the Columbia river for a bit, then wiggled my way back home on side roads. Never did make it to the store....

Hi,
Living in Australia in the military I was based in the northern part of Northern Territory, Katherine, and was posted to Point Cook in Victoria.
I decided to drive my 911. The trip took me 3 driving days (by myself!), and 3420 km, or 2132 miles....What a great trip!!! Approx half was open speed limit too :-)

But to answer your question, yes, I still get the urge, don't we all!

Last month I drove nearly 400 miles to NOLA Motorsports Park on a Friday (my second trip there this year), participated in the PCA DE on Saturday and Sunday, and drove back home afterwards on Sunday evening.

So... yeah, I feel like driving my 911 ALL day. OFTEN.

Al - Hwy 1 out of Legget is one of my Fav roads ever. I first found it in 1977 on a M/C and it's been a rare year since that I have not repeated it. 210 miles of heaven all the way to Mill Valley.

Here we replace donuts by "chocolatines or croissants" , but the feeling stays the same.

A wholehearted "YES" I often find myself pointing the 911 north, east or south for the whole day, especially since my kids recently went away to school.

With each mile the 911 seems to perform better and better!

One of my local roads is US 1 and for those that get to drive it and have the time for side-excursions, there are many very special roads that travel east of US 1 which should not be missed.
